Pastel Painting of Billie Holiday

This is a soft pastel painting on paper of the late blues singer Billie Holiday.

Size 9 x 12

This painting is a part of a series called The Important Women Collection.

This series is a tribute to women whose strength, vision, and artistry continue to shape our culture. Through soft pastels and luminous watercolors, I’ve reimagined figures like Angela Bassett, Maya Angelou, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg—women whose voices and legacies are woven into history. Alongside them are bold new icons, like Megan Thee Stallion, who are defining what it means to stand unapologetically in their power today. Each portrait is a celebration of her story—capturing both grace and grit, tenderness and fire.

This piece is created using artist or student -grade materials. Care Instructions for Pastel Artwork: Pastel paintings are beautifully vibrant and long‑lasting, but their surface is delicate. Keep the artwork in its protective sleeve until you’re ready to frame it, and avoid touching the surface directly. For best preservation, frame the piece under glass using a mat so the artwork doesn’t touch the glass. Please do not use spray fixative, as it can darken or change the colors. Display your artwork away from direct sunlight or harsh lighting to keep it bright and beautiful for years to come.………… Details •Signed by artist Julene Allen ( Signature states Julene) •Size 9”x12” thick pastel paper •Mailed in a clear presentation sleeve & packed to ensure no folds or bends. •Accompanied by Certificate of Authenticity
